Physics: Darasi game da general gas law

    Ga pressure law:

    P α T or P / T = constant

    P1 = initial gas pressure

    T1 = initial gas temperature

    P2 = final gas pressure

    T2 = final gas tempressure.

    PV = K, wannan yana nufin pressure ayi multiplyin din shi da volume zai zama constant k, wanda P tana matsayin pressure na gas, V tana matsayin volume na gas, sai kuma k yana matsayin constant. Dubi karin bayani akan Boyle’s law anan.

    Bayan mun ga bayanai da kuma formulolin na wadannan laws guda uku na gas, yanzu zamu je kai tsaye ga general gas law.     Boyle’s law: PV = constant

    PV = P1V1

    Therefore, PxVyTz becomes P1V1T0 or P1V1 = Therefore, for x = 1, y = 1 and z = 0,

    PxVyTz = constant is Boyle’s law.

    Pressure law: P / V = constant

    P / V = P1 V1 / T1 = P1V1T-1

    PxVyTz becomes P1V1T-1   = PV / T

    Therefore, for x = 1, y = 1 and z = -1, PxVyTz = constant is general gas law.

    The volume and pressure of a given mass of gas at 270 C are 76cm3 and 80cm of mercury respectively. Calculate its volume at STP  WAEC 2000

    Initial gas volume, V1 = 76cm3

    Final gas volume, V2 = ?

    Final gas temperature, T2 = 273K

    Initial Pressure, P1 = 80cmHg

    Initial gas temperature, T1 = 270C = (27 + 273) = 300K

    Final gas pressure, P2 = 760mmHg = 76cmHg

    Yanzu za mu dauki data dinmu da aka bamu musa su cikin ideal gas equation

    P1V1 / T1 = P2V2 / T2 we have, 80cm Hg × 76cm3 / 300K = 76cmHg × V2 / 273K

    Therefore V2 = 80cm Hg × 76cm3 × 273K / 76cmHg × 300K = 72.8cm3
